How to protect a feather fan
- Avoid humid environments:
Feathers are prone to getting damp and moldy. When storing, choose a dry and well-ventilated place. You can put a small amount of desiccant (such as silica gel desiccant) in the fan box, but avoid direct contact between the desiccant and the feathers.
- Prevent squeezing and deformation:
Feathers are soft in texture. Do not stack other items on them when storing. It is best to place them alone in a special fan box or a breathable cloth bag, keeping the fan surface naturally unfolded or gently folded (avoid over-folding).
- Reduce stain contamination:
Try to avoid touching the feathers directly with your hands when using. If dust accidentally gets on them, you can gently brush it off with a soft brush (such as a wool brush). If there are slight stains, do not wipe them directly with water or detergent; instead, ask professionals to handle them.
- Pay attention to insect and moisture prevention:
For long-term storage, you can place a small amount of mothballs in the fan box (avoid direct contact with the feathers), and regularly check if the environment is humid, and ventilate properly in a timely manner.
